My Let-Downs Have Changed
My son is going to be ten months old soon and it amazes me that breast feeding is a learning process even this far into the game! My most recent lesson is that my let downs can sometimes take up to 3 or 4 minutes. During the first 3 months, I could always feel my let downs and actually found them to be a bit painful. These letdowns came pretty quickly but as time has passed and my milk supply lowered due to supplementing with solids and formula (that’s a whole other can of worms!), it takes longer for him to get to the goods. I have been trying to massage my breasts beforehand and squeeze out a few drops to get him interested and sucking. This ritual has helped keep him interested and less likely to pull off a million times as babies this age tend to start doing around 6 or 7 months.
